Dream now, travel later

After many weeks at home, in the home office and with no real freedom to travel and roam, we can finally look forward to some relief and to make holiday plans. Why spending our holidays in our own country seems is the order of the day.

It is advisable to spend this summer within the country’s borders – but not only due to the current health situationor border complations. According to conservative estimates of the KOF Economic Research Institute, the COVID-19 crisis will have caused a loss in economic added value of approximately CHF 22 billion between March and June 2020 alone. This situation could get even worse, as according to expert’s calculations, between 44 and 71 percent of our national revenue is generated by the international environment. It is therefore all the more essential to consume locally and within Switzerland.

We are only too happy to participate and show our solidarity by introducing you to three of our personal favourite holiday destinations in Switzerland.

Belalp – Activities and Relaxation high up in the Alps.
Great hiking at high altitudes in the Valais – over suspension bridges, up to the Aletsch Glacier or to the Riederfurka, a beautiful victorian Villa in the middle of the Alps. There is climbing, bike trails, theme trails for families and hotspots for paragliders. Anything the outdoor heart desires is on offer here at Belalp.

Away from noise and traffic at 2094 m above sea, it is also a peaceful place to help you regain inner peace. And theres much on offer culturally too. How about Shepherd’s Sunday, for instance – solely dedicated to our four-legged friends. A small folk festival with hearty food, music and lots of local culture. Because, it is said there are more sheep than inhabitants in the village of Naters.

Engadine – It’s pure Nature
Summer in Engadine. Small scattered lakes sparkling like jewels in an alpine landscape, surrounded by majestic peaks.. a view to be enjoyed on arrival of almost every hiking trails here in Engadine. And if you are lucky, you get to see wild-life such as ibex, marmots or the largest bird in the Alps – the majestic bearded vulture.

Bartgeier. It is freedom and vision- for body and soul. The charm, nostalgia and sense of tradtion of Engadine culture can be discovered everywhere here, from arriving on the Rhätische Bahn (local Railway) to picturesque historic villages and down-to-earth local specialities.

Tessin – La Dolce Vita
Lean Back and Relax. In Ticino, you will definitely spend a few hours with “Dolce far niente”. But there is also so much on offer here in Ticino, for families and couples alike. Beautiful parks and natural beaches on the shores of Lago Maggiore and Lake Lugano enhance the sunny, summery meditarreanen feel. Also, strolling through picturesque villages, enjoying a real Gelato Gioccolato Nero, or taking a day-trip to the many gorgeous valleys, such as the Valle Verzsasca with its stunning mountain stream, architectural beauty spots and historic stone bridges. And in the evenings you can enjoy a bit of Italianità with a pizza on the Piazza or a Jazz Concert in Ascona with a glass of good local wine in your hand.

We are looking forward to the Summer… are you? Make your reservations for your favourite destination now – and when the time comes- put your sunglasses on and relax…!
