New regulation of residential property taxation

It is well known that our politicians have been working for decades on a new solution for the taxation of residential property, specifically the abolition of the deemed rental income (Eigenmietwert). Most recently, there was hope that this old project could now actually succeed.

Experfina takes the next step in digitization

Accelerating numerous procedures, facilitating communication, and enabling our customers to view their documents around the clock: read the interview with Christian Moesch to find out which other advantages our new online client portal has to offer.

Experfina’s new client portal went live at the beginning of the year. First clients have already started using the option and can now conveniently access their documents at any time from their computer or mobile device. While such tools have long been popular with banks and insurance companies, they are not yet as common in the fiduciary sector.

How is the portal structured and how is it navigated?

Christian Moesch: “Our new portal is a cloud-based database linked to a document management system. Upon successful login via two-factor authentication on our website, you will first see an intuitive dashboard providing a clear overview of the various areas and documents. For example, you can access your latest tax return as well as annual accounts prepared 10 years ago with just a few clicks. By exchanging data directly via the portal, the often insecure transmission of confidential documents by email is no longer necessary. In addition, you can also download our blog articles as well as interesting and helpful fact sheets from our new client portal – be it on HR or tax issues or on retirement planning.”

In case of specific questions, however, I still contact the responsible consultant by phone or email?

Christian Moesch: “We will, of course, remain available for any kind of personal exchange; however, our new client portal offers the additional possibility of contacting us directly online. Clients can now use the chat function in the portal to send their message to the responsible consultant and may expect quick replies with a push notification. Thus, not only data exchange, but also communication will from now on be encrypted via our cloud.”

The new portal is primarily intended as a service for clients. Yet, does the innovation also bring advantages for the team at Experfina, through simplified workflows, for example?

Christian Moesch: “Thanks to the digitization of the documents, we can now use the full-text search for all files and thus find desired information much faster. This saves us a lot of time. Besides, it is extremely practical to be able to open, edit and save documents directly in the cloud, regardless of the file format. We are also in the process of digitizing all master data which we currently keep as hardcopies. Finally, digitized document management also enables remote access, which is an additional advantage in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and changed working structures.”

At Experfina, we engage in an exchange with the innovative tool’s developers and are looking forward to seeing which new functions they will introduce in the future. The feedback we have received from the first users of our client portal has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are delighted that our services are even more easily accessible now that they are digitized. In the coming months, we will gradually roll out this new feature to all our customers who are interested in using it. Please, do not hesitate to contact us.
