Intermezzo: End of Summer

It is not the time to address complex issues. People still hold on to the holiday vibes, enjoy the good weather and spend most of their time outdoors. Therefore, we have decided to focus on the beautiful things in life too and give tips for refreshments and enjoyable moments.

While some use every occasion to jump into the water or cool off in the mountains, others go for walks in the shade or relax under an umbrella, reading and enjoying a refreshing drink. Even if temperatures are slowly dropping, we want to hold on to summer for just a little longer. So, instead of advising you on fiduciary issues, we have come up with some recommendations on how to properly enjoy the last days of summer before the leaves start to fall.

No matter whether you prefer relaxing on the balcony, by the Rhine or in the garden; before we spend more days indoors again, now is the last opportunity for balmy evenings outdoors. They are best enjoyed with a drink tasting of summer. We recommend this light and refreshing seasonal mix:

(Gin) Fizz with figs and rosemary

Gin Fizz is a classic, especially in summer. Simple yet refreshing and popular all over the world. This special edition with a Mediterranean touch is the perfect choice to enjoy the last deep red sunsets.

A dash of blackberry syrup
4 cl of Gin (or without)
Half a fig
Sparkling water
Rosemary
Ice cubes

The rosemary boasts classic Mediterranean notes and goes wonderfully with the juniper aromas of the gin. The fig rounds it off with a touch of sweetness and marks the seasonal link to the approaching autumn. Cheers!

For those who prefer to be a little more active, now is also the perfect climate for exercise. Since the big heat is over, you do not have to get up quite so early to avoid the high temperatures when jogging or doing other types of sport. For instance, when was the last time you were on the Gempen or on another beautiful route through the woods in the region? There is nowhere else where the change of seasons can be seen better than amid nature. The air, the light, the scents and sounds – everything is different. Explore a new trail or revisit one of your old favourites. Whatever you opt for, we at Experfina wish you a pleasant change of season and look forward to seeing you again, well rested and refreshed.
